Whether it’s finding fun things for the kids to do, paying for extra childcare, or even just all that extra food they seem to eat, the school holidays can be a struggle for many families. Covid-19 has meant that many people’s incomes have been reduced and children and young people are keen to get out and spend time with their friends.
This Easter Durham have launched a Fun and Food programme, providing fun activities with healthy snacks and meals for children and young people. Activities are provided by a range of partners including schools, voluntary and community sector groups, sport and leisure services and Family Centres.
These links will take you to information about activities taking place in County Durham during the Easter holidays.
Please remember that our holiday dates are different to many Durham schools and therefore not all activities will be at suitable times.
To mark the first National Day of Reflection, Mrs Herdman had the lovely idea of planting summer bulbs. Each of the children planted a bulb in memory of all who have died of COVID this year and for their families and friends who grieve.
We hope that out of sadness we create something beautiful and when restrictions are lifted in the Summer Term, you will be able to visit our garden and see the flowers for yourself.
